Type or paste your text (up to 5000 words), choose a password, and receive your URL. The browser encrypts the text before upload. Later, open the URL and enter the same password to decrypt it locally.
Texts auto-delete after the selected time and will be purged periodically. Your text is encrypted in non-readable text, even to the web admin - keep your password safe as no password = no more text!
If no password is used, anyone with the URL can view your uploaded text by leaving the password field blank. Use a password for private texts encrypted with so-called "military grade" AES encyption.
Text creation is rate-limited. You will be notified if rapid creation is detected. Only you can see and delete encrypted messages with your password. Admin cannot remove password-protected texts on request.
Privacy Notice
SafeText encrypts your text in your own browser before anything is uploaded. Password-protected texts are stored only as encrypted data and the password is never sent to the server. This means the site admin cannot open, read, recover, or sell the contents of a password-protected text. If you lose the password, the text cannot be recovered.
If you create a text without a password, it can be opened by leaving the password field blank. Anyone who knows or guesses the URL can view and delete it, and the admin may also view or remove passwordless texts if they are reported or found to contain illegal material, child abuse material, hacking links, malware, spam, or other abuse. Password-protected texts may still be removed as database records if required for abuse, legal, or service-protection reasons, but their contents cannot be read by the admin.
SafeText does not create user accounts, tracking cookies, telemetry profiles, user settings, or identifying user records. The admin does not collect personal data for advertising and has no plaintext message database to sell. Standard hosting, security or CDN services may still process ordinary technical request data needed to deliver and protect the site.
Texts are temporary. All messages are subject to automated purging and deletion after the selected expiry time, and anything kept for 30 days is subject to automatic removal. SafeText uses strong, publicly available browser encryption intended to be safe for everyday private text sharing, but if your safety, freedom, money, or life depends on the information staying secret, use a dedicated high-security tool instead.
The only setting saved by SafeText is your dark or light mode choice, which is stored locally in your own browser so the site can remember your preferred display mode.
